Janel Tjiong was born in New York City, New York.  Janel began her martial arts training in 2001 and has studied Wushu, Tai Chi, Shaolin Kung Fu, Hung Ga Kung Fu, and Tae kwon do.  She is a recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Achievement.

  • Performed with China World Champion Junior Wushu Team in on August 22, 2015 (Fairfax, VA)
  • Performed with China Kung Fu Champion World Tour  at the Ernst Cultural Center in Annandale, VA to celebrate the Asian & Pacific American Heritage Month China Week Festival 2014. (May 17, 2014)
  • Performed with China World Champion Wushu Team at the United Nations on August 18, 2011 in a special presentation to member countries - “Wushu in the United Nations, Peace, Friendship, Health”.

    Awarded 24 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals in collegiates and international kung fu tournaments for Long Fist, Spear, Staff, Straight Sword, and Double Straight Swords.

  • 2001 - 2005
    Five time New Jersey State Champion in Taekwondo tournaments for Hand Forms and Sparring.
